I’m an Emergency Medical Technician attempting to make sense of the work that I do and hopefully make it a little better for the world. I want to understand the emergency medicine structure from the perspective of more than just America. I want to visit the world and see what they do better that we can implement or what I can do to make some other structure better. Starting with the places that I’ve already visited or hope to visit in the next year, my project takes a look at America, Italy, Peru, and Madagascar. With only two semesters for this project, I am focusing on an issue within emergency medicine that is especially interesting and important to me. I will be taking a look at and hopefully redesigning the AED. Not only will I be redesigning the AED itself but I hope to reinvent the way they’re used and seen in America in order to improve survival rates among those who need them, which may be you or your family member one day. I hope you find this as important and interesting as I do!
